About Chiara

Ciao! I am Chiara.

Born and raised in Rome to a Neapolitan mum and a Roman dad, I spent over ten years abroad (between the UK and Southeast Asia), where I discovered how enriching it is to connect and work with people from different cultures. Wherever I lived, I always carried Italy with me — sharing its language, traditions, and everyday stories.

I’m a certified Italian teacher (DITALS) with over ten years of experience, and a certified trekking guide registered with AIGAE. Today I live in Gaeta, where I combine language teaching with nature-based experiences, helping learners discover Italy beyond the classroom.

My aim is to turn each lesson and outdoor activity into a space of exploration — where your passion for Italy becomes an active journey of discovery, and where you can begin to feel not just like a visitor, but a living part of the local culture.

My Approach to Italian Language and Culture:

This laboratory of Italian language and culture was born from my belief in slow travel as a path to deeper understanding: walking, observing, and listening to places and people in order to truly feel the language and cultural identity that shape them.

The journey unfolds between Rome and the border with Campania, along the southern coast of Lazio — a region often overlooked by mainstream itineraries, yet extraordinarily rich in history, landscape, and human stories. Here, nature becomes a lens through which we explore the relationship the ancient Romans had with their environment — from ancient Roman consular roads to seaside villas, from ports to sacred sites — and reflect on how that relationship has evolved to this day.

Moving between the old days and contemporary life, I invite participants to discover the cultural roots of this territory while reflecting on ecology, on the meaning of travel, and on what it truly means to inhabit a place. Italian is learned and practiced in a living context, shaped by direct experience and meaningful exchange.

Whether we are walking through the Monti Aurunci, tasting olive oil in a family-owned grove, or sipping wine at the local enoteca, language is not just taught — it is lived.

Learning Italian with me means engaging in a journey that combines:

  • Year-round online courses, flexible and carefully tailored to your goals and current level.

  • Immersive experiences in Italy, including guided walking tours, tastings, encounters with local hosts or more adventurous trekking experiences.

  • A nature-inspired learning approach, where everyday life and the environment support communication and deepen cultural understanding.

My students are curious travellers before tourists — people who want to explore Italy from within, build meaningful connections, and experience the country in a thoughtful and authentic way.
If this approach speaks to you, I invite you to get in touch. We can schedule a 30-minute introductory call to assess your level, clarify your objectives, and outline a structured learning plan.

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, we will build a path that supports confident improvement in a friendly and relaxed environment.
